Apple cider vinegar stands in every Amish home. Not just a condiment — it's a first aid kit and cleaner in one bottle.
Homemade Recipe
Apple scraps (peels, cores) + water + sugar (1 tbsp per liter). In a jar, cover with cloth. 2 weeks at room temp — ferments to alcohol. Another 4–6 weeks — alcohol becomes vinegar. Strain.
Health
Digestion: 1 tbsp in a glass of water before meals. Stimulates stomach acid. Sore throat: gargle — 1 tbsp in warm water. Acid kills bacteria. Heartburn: 1 tsp in water — paradoxically helps.
Household
Hair rinse (shine, removes shampoo residue). Odor neutralizer: bowl of vinegar in a room. Cleaning: 1:1 with water — glass, surfaces, tile.
What Vinegar Doesn't Do
Doesn't cure cancer, lower blood pressure, or dissolve stones. The Amish use it practically, not as a miracle cure.
