Amish and motorists share the road. 300 years of experience produced rules:
For Motorists
Don't honk (horse startles → accident). Pass slowly, wide. Don't photograph (rude). Don't stop to chat (delays the horse).
For Amish
Right edge. Don't take the whole lane. Lanterns on (if available). On hills — yield (horse tires). Clean manure off road (not all communities — debates).
Main Rule
Patience. Both sides. Motorist tolerates 8 km/h. Amish tolerates engine roar. Both are people. Both on the same road.
