Amish don't need GPS. All of life within 10 miles. Roads familiar since childhood. Horse knows the route better than a navigator.

But

Amish construction crews work 50-100 miles from home. Travel by van (English driver). Driver needs GPS. Amish in the back doesn't use it. But knows it exists. Knows it works. And thinks...

Philosophy

GPS tells where to go. Doesn't ask why. Doesn't warn it's unfamiliar territory. Stars are silent. But if you can read them, you know more than GPS. You know the season, moon phase, approaching storm, wind direction. GPS knows coordinates. Stars know the world.
