An Amish home has no bottles of chemicals. Four ingredients clean everything.

Vinegar

Glass and mirrors: 1:1 with water in a spray bottle. Limescale: pure vinegar for 30 minutes, then brush. Surface disinfection: vinegar kills most bacteria. Don't use on marble or granite — acid eats stone.

Baking Soda

Abrasive for sinks, tubs, stoves. Sprinkle, scrub with damp sponge. Fridge odor: open box of baking soda. Clogged drain: half cup soda + cup vinegar, wait 15 minutes, flush with boiling water.

Lemon

Deodorizer for cutting boards: rub with half a lemon. Tea/coffee stains on cups: lemon juice + salt. Microwave: bowl of water with lemon, heat 5 minutes, wipe — grease comes off effortlessly.

Salt

Burned food: sprinkle salt, wait 10 minutes, scrape. Wine stains: pour salt immediately — absorbs. Wood: salt + lemon = scrub for wooden surfaces.
