Amish beekeepers make candles from wax. Not luxury — beeswax beats paraffin on every metric.

Advantages

Burns 2–3 times longer than paraffin. No toxic emissions (paraffin is petroleum). Releases negative ions — binds dust and allergens. Natural honey scent without chemical fragrances.

Dip Method

Melt wax in double boiler to 70°C. Dip wick in wax, pull out, let harden. Repeat 20–30 times — each dip adds a layer. Classic taper candle. Slow, but perfect results.

Pour Method

Melt wax, pour into a mold with a secured wick. Let set 24 hours. Faster, but dipped are considered better — denser, burn more evenly.

Wick

Cotton, no metal core. Thickness matches candle diameter: thin for thin candles, thick for thick. Wrong wick = smoking or dying out.
