Foal is born. In 3 years — pulls a buggy. In between — patience.
Year One
Getting used to people. A child (8-10) daily pets, grooms, hand-feeds. Foal learns: human = safety.
Year Two
Halter, lead rope. Walk beside a person. Stand on command. Turn. Voice commands: 'Whoa' (stop), 'Gee' (right), 'Haw' (left), 'Get up' (go).
Year Three
Harness. First — pull a light load (log). Then — empty buggy. Then — with a passenger. First road trip — with an experienced horse alongside (calms the youngster).
