Arrive after lunch. Women — to kitchen (tea, pies, talk). Men — to workshop or porch (weather, livestock, prices). Children — play (snowballs, sleds, skating on frozen pond). Leave before dark.
Why
No phone — can't call. No internet — can't text. Only way to know how Grandma's doing — go. And that's right. Because you can't hug through a phone.
